Hanif Shahzad, a recipient of the Pakistan President's Medal of Excellence (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), is a Civil Engineer with a passion for art. Trained at the Karachi School of Art, where he earned accolades for his work, Shahzad continuously seeks new avenues of expression. Initially experimenting with collage to add texture to his watercolor pieces, he later delved into oils and mixed media, skillfully bringing his artistic visions to life. His beloved city serves as his primary muse, drawing inspiration from its architectural splendor and rich history. From the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal to the intricate details of the Mohatta Palace, Shahzad's art reflects his deep admiration for Karachi's heritage. His work captures the essence of the city's landscapes, streets, and iconic landmarks such as the Empress Market, Memon Masjid, D.J. Science College, and Port Grand. Since his debut exhibition in 1989, Shahzad has showcased his art globally, cementing his reputation as a distinguished artist whose creations are cherished as museum pieces.
