Mashkoor Raza Date of Birth: April 1, 1960, in Muradabad, India.

A graduate and gold medalist from the Karachi School of Art in 1972, Mashkoor Raza has been a prominent figure in the Pakistani art scene for the past 20 years. He is celebrated for his prolific work in impressionist and abstract art. Initially, his style was characterized by rough brushwork and vibrant colors, gradually evolving and maturing over time. In his solo exhibition in June 1980, his paintings depicted piles of rough, round stones with varying slabs and empty spaces, showcasing his evolving style. By 1991, he was known for his dynamic depictions of horses in various poses. Although he has experimented with calligraphy, he is primarily recognized for his mastery of impressionist and abstract art. His work is distinguished by its rough layers and surfaces, earning him the moniker "Master of Distorted Art" within local art circles.
